JPMorgan Chase Appoints Two Seasoned Bankers to Take on New Community-Focused Roles to Help Deliver Firm’s Commitment to Racial Equity  Nevada Business Magazine

Las Vegas – Two seasoned bankers in Las Vegas will take on new roles at Chase to deepen relationships in the community to help improve financial health and provide expert guidance in home lending in underserved communities. Their roles are part of JPMorgan Chase’s five-year racial equity commitment of $30 billion towards addressing the racial wealth gap. The five-year commitment was announced in October 2020.

 Malika E. Lees, Chase’s new Community Manager in Las Vegas, will act as a local ambassador for Chase to build and nurture relationships with key community leaders, nonprofit partners and small businesses at the neighborhood level. With an emphasis on financial health, Malika will work with local residents, businesses and the community as a whole to identify programming, resources, and collaboration opportunities that address local needs.

Malika has worked in the financial services industry for 15 years and joined Chase in 2018 as a Branch Manager in Las Vegas. Born in Morocco, she moved to France to finish college, where she received her Master’s Degree in Maritime Business and Transportation Law from University Paul Cezanne Aix Marseille III.

Malika sits on the firm’s Las Vegas leadership team, co-chairs the firm’s local Volunteer Leadership Group and is a member of multiple Business Resource Groups. She is an avid volunteer and has led projects for Three Square, Spread the Word Nevada, Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada, United Way of Southern Nevada, the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels.

Darius Toston, a highly decorated mortgage professional and veteran with nearly 20 years of experience in the mortgage industry, recently joined Chase as a Community Home Lending Manager. He will be leading a team of Community Home Lending Advisors in Nevada, Colorado and Arizona.

Darius is very active in the community. He currently serves as President of the Nevada Mortgage Lender’s Association (Nevada’s MBA Partner) and is the board chair for Neighborhood Housing Services of Southern Nevada (a NeighborWorks affiliate). He is heavily involved with the real estate industry minority trade associations, serving on the boards of the Las Vegas chapters of National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), Asian Real Estate Association (AREAA), and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP).

Darius is an Army veteran and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was also a student athlete. Darius holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in both Accounting and Management Information Systems.
