TD Bank is planning to give over $10 million dollars worth of grants to non-profits and charitable organizations who are providing innovative solutions for COVID-19 related issues.

The grant is part of the organization’s 3rd Annual TD Ready Challenge. In a release, TD Bank says it is looking to award groups across Canada who are creating measurable solutions to address a problem within their community that has resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a statement from TD Bank, the announcement comes as growing evidence shows that COVID-19 is affecting certain populations across North America at a disproportionate rate.

“The TD Ready Challenge was designed to catalyze innovative social solutions to address complex social, health, and economic issues. This year, the issues of COVID-19 require ideas that can be implemented and scaled to mitigate the unequal impacts in our communities.” said Andrea Barrack in the release, global head of sustainability and corporate responsibility for the TD Bank Group.

To qualify for a grant, an organization’s innovative solution must apply to one of four following areas of concern, including; financial security; the environment; health programs; and arts and cultural programs. If selected, local organizations could be given a grant worth between $350,000 to an upwards of $1 million dollars.

Interested groups have until August 13 to apply. For more information about the application process, click here.
