Truist Awards $20K COVID-19 Grant to National Church Residences  Patch.com

National Church Residences is the recipient of a $20,000 grant from Truist Financial Corporation. The money will be used to assist residents living in the organization’s 11 affordable housing communities in Georgia, as well as seniors on waitlists and some residents living at Atlanta Habitat for Humanity properties, which has a partnership with National Church Residences.

“National Church Residences is extremely grateful to Truist for the generous contribution to our COVID-19 relief efforts,” said Jacque Thornton, population health director of Georgia for National Church Residences. “The grant will support the immediate needs of our senior residents, which include food insecurity, rental assistance, transportation, combating social isolation and providing personal protective equipment.”

During this period of isolation due to the pandemic, seniors are facing more challenges than ever before to secure the items and services they need for daily living.

“We are pleased to support National Church Residences in their efforts to provide care and comfort to seniors in our community during this difficult time,” said Jenna Kelly, Northern Georgia regional president at Truist. “At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities, and we’re committed to helping vulnerable populations manage throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”
