TETERBORO, NJ – The Teterboro Borough Council unanimously approved a resolution extending the grace period for payment of property taxes for the second quarter. The grace period for payment of second-quarter property taxes was extended to June 1, 2020, it was announced at Tuesday’s Borough of Teterboro Council meeting.
The meeting was conducted by phone-in conference call to comply with the ongoing stay-at-home orders and CDC social distancing guidelines due to COVID-19 pandemic.
This follows Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Order number 130 which allowed municipalities to adopt such a resolution. The borough joins neighboring Wood-Ridge and Hackensack in extending the grace period.
In addition, the Council passed on introduction and first reading Ordinance #610, authorizing the acquisition and installation of replacement values and ladder improvements at the Route 46 pump station for the DPW in the amount of $30,000.
The Council also passed the following as part of the consent agenda:
a. Approved an $850.00 clothing allowance for DPW employees.
b. Approval to extend the contract with North Jersey Friendship House, Inc. for an additional one-year option period.
c. Approved update of the Borough’s Code Book and replacement supplements with General Code Company In the amount of $4,340.00
d. Approved Extending the Tax Grace Period for the Second Quarter 2020 Property Taxes to June 1, 2020.
e. Approved contract with Mitchell Humphrey & Co. for Software Product License and Maintenance Support Agreement for permit reporting for the Construction Code Department in the amount of $7,025.00
f. Approved contract with Procomm Systems, Inc. for alarms for the Municipal Clerks Office that goes straight to the Moonachie Police Department in the amount of $3,981.00.
g. Approved State Contract Vendor WB Mason , Contract T-0052 Contract period through May 6, 2021.
h. Approved Stephen Sanzari for the position of Acting Chief Financial Officer part-time in the amount of Fifty-Five ($55.00) Dollars an hour, term beginning May 12, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
i. Approved compliance with the Internal Revenue Service Code of 1986 regarding Bond Anticipation Notes.
j. Approved appointment of Nicholas C. Saros as Municipal Housing Liaison Administrator.
k. Approved the designation of TD Bank, N.A., as a depository for the Borough.
