Local Nonprofits Receive Donations from Bank of America  KERO 23ABC News

KERN COUNTY, Calif. — Several organizations in Bakersfield will be getting some help from Bank of America, with seven non-profits splitting up $200,000.

Funding will be going to the Superintendent of Schools “Education Foundation,” which helps provide more than 40,000 students with access to laptops and MiFi hot spots while schools are closed.

Money is also headed to Garden Pathways and the Boys and Girls Club of Kern County, both of which are providing childcare services for health care and other essential workers as demand reaches an all-time high.

The Bakersfield Homeless Center and The Mission at Kern County are receiving funding to continue to provide a safe environment for those in shelters.

Additionally, Catholic Charities and Central California Food Bank were named donation recipients as they experience a heightened demand for food for vulnerable individuals and families.

Across the world, BofA will be donating $100 million dollars for organizations that provide access to remote learning, food assistance for vulnerable families, child daycare and emergency housing.
